A very warm welcome to the webpage of:
St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption;
Mother Church of the Diocese of Kingstown
in
St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Built in 1823, damaged in 1875; repaired and enlarged in 1877, 1891, two wings added in 1930. Inside the startling exterior is a labyrinth of school, church and presbytery. Fountains, archways, courtyards are also to be found where brick, stone and tile combine exuberantly. The Cathedral is yours to enjoy for its beauty, but do remember that its main purpose is for worhsip and to be an inspiration and witness to a world beset with multiple problems. From January 31,1971 the church served as a Co-Cathedral under Most. Rev. Bishop Anthony Dickson, Barbados. St. Vincent was split from Barbados on the October 23, 1989 and was established as an independent Diocese.

My Rosary
My Rosary is a silver chain
that binds my soul to God.
My Rosary is a mystic wine
that grows in Heaven's sod.
The Aves from a rose bouquet
of white and red and gold
that strew along Our Lady's way
as each blest bead is told.
The mysteries are lessons learned
of life's true gain and loss,
and always at the Chaplet's end,
I find and kiss the Cross.
